There was something really quite alluring about this fragrance. I read some really interesting stuff about egoiste and how it’s the best thing to ever come out of Jacques Polge’s craft. What made it even more compelling was how Francois Demachy was also part of this creation. Did a test a couple months ago and I was FLOORED. As much as I like Chanel Egoiste, it is NOT something to blind buy. If you’re getting it, make sure you really like it. Even if you know and like the notes, you really have to smell for yourself to be sure you want it. Platinum Egoiste is fantastic. Top tier masculine fragrance that has managed to ride the reformulation wave without going under. Really good stuff, I'd say it would make a top 10 of men's fragrances that I'd happily recommend to someone else.
As far as I understand it, these new squat bottles with a cap narrower than the bottle are the newest batch, and the tall flush bottles are older.
