About ten years ago I bought used Aerospace model E56062 from an acquaintance for USD1200. I believe this is a 1996 model with a B56 movement. About every 2 years I have . About ten years ago I bought used Aerospace model E56062 from an acquaintance for USD1200. I believe this is a 1996 model with a B56 movement. About every 2 years I have the battery replaced at the official Breitling service centre in Hong Kong for USD32. Does anyone have any experience upgrading their movement while undergoing service with Breitling? I miss the backlight function and would love to upgrade to the improved B79 if it were possible. Has anyone been through this or if anyone has any knowledge I would really appreciate it.
The watch had to go in for service and Breitling suggested to replace the movement. I agreed as quartz watches have only a finite lifespan and I was concerned that at a later time a movement change might no longer be possible. I have recently taken in 2 Breitling aerospace sin for movement changes. One has an ETA 310.351 and the other has an ETA 310.391. Am I right in assuming that the replacement movement for these is the ETA 988.332?
Supporting both the analog and digital functions, these earliest of Aerospaces use the Breitling 56, a quartz movement based on the ETA 988.332 with ~4 years of battery life and functions including a perpetual calendar, a chronograph, and a second time zone.Every 4 to 6 years, we recommend a complete service, which includes: disassembly, cleaning and replacing of standard movement parts, assembly, lubrication, adjustment and setting of movement function parameters; changing all seals, partial changing of hands and checking of water resistance; refurbishment* of the case and metal bracelet .

i'm going to replace the PCB on a breitling aerospace 988 movement. before i attempt this, i thought i'd ask if anyone else has done it before and therefore if there are any tips they might give me. Replacement of the whole movement sounds a bit more extreme to me. If I'm understanding the OP correctly, Breitling is suggesting replacement as a "cure" for the recurring problem of slipping, which multiple repairs doesn't seem to be able to fix.I was devastated because the Aerospace had been my grail watch for such a long time, so eventually after a few years of it sitting in a desk drawer I had a replacement movement put in by Breitling service. My watch is perfect again, and is currently over 3 .
